Burr Announces $799,706 Grant for UNC-Charlotte

Funds to improve services to disabled youth

Senator Richard Burr today announced a $799,706 United States Department of Education grant for the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. The funds will provide for the creation of a Secondary Transition Technical Assistance Center (STTAC) to improve educational services for disabled youth.

"Every child deserves a chance to succeed," said Senator Burr. "These funds will assist leaders at UNC-Charlotte in offering critical educational services to North Carolina youth."

The U.S. Department of Education provides funding to promote academic achievement for children with disabilities. STTAC will help North Carolina build state and local level education infrastructure for youth with disabilities.
