Burr Student Loan Amendment Approved 97-0

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Senator Richard Burr (R-N.C.) released a statement following an unanimous vote of 97-0 to include his amendment, based on the Repayment Act, to the budget agreement. Senator King (I-ME) joined Burr as an original cosponsor.

“For the second time, my amendment with Senator King has passed with overwhelming bipartisan support,” said Senator Burr. “Americans are tired of seeing their hard-earned tax dollars go to waste in a student loan program that doesn’t adequately serve the interests of those students it is intended to help. The Repay Act is a common-sense step forward to address the deficiencies in our student loan programs.”
