The internship program in Senator Burr’s Washington office consists of two semester-long sessions in the spring and fall, and three sessions during the summer months. During their time in Washington, D.C., interns participate in a wide array of activities ranging from constituent services and conducting U.S. Capitol tours to legislative research. In addition, interns are encouraged to enjoy the many other activities Washington, D.C. has to offer. Applicants should be upperclassmen college students from the state of North Carolina studying political science or government. Interns work in Senator Burr’s legislative office. The nature of the work of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence prevents Senator Burr’s office from placing interns in his committee office.
We are no longer accepting Spring 2020 applications. To apply for one of our three sessions in the Summer (May 15-June 19, June 19-July 10, July 10-August 14), please complete the application. Applications and all accompanying materials must be received by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, March 13, 2020.
